Immunohistology and digital image analysis
DIAPath (Digital Image Analysis in Pathology) is a platform from the CMMI for the validation of tissue-based biomarkers using special staining, standardized immunohistochemistry (IHC) and multiplexed immunofluorescence (mIF), whole slide imaging and image analysis (with artificial intelligence) for objective quantitative analysis.
The overall goal is to extract information useful for understanding disease processes and response to therapy, and to characterize biomarkers useful for diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic purposes.
The GIGA Immunohistology platform provides the materials, techniques, and expertise required to conduct consistent and reliable histological studies. The facility is equipped for paraffin processing and embedding of both fixed and frozen samples, as well as sectioning of paraffin-embedded or frozen tissues. It can also produce thin-layer cell preparations from cell suspensions upon request and offers both tinctorial and immunohistochemical staining services.
